Artesian and Spring water

by tenuki » Sep 15th, '09, 22:43

I've found the best water for tea makes all the difference. Nearby my house there is an artesian well that has the sweetest most refreshing water. It makes fantastic tea, better than the already good seattle tap water. I'm posting this site here so you can find a natural water source near you. :)

Good luck!

Interesting nothing shows in Arkansas. When I was there I went with my Aunt to fill up gallon bottles of the best water, that just flows from a faucet set up there in the hills. The spigot does not turn "off" if just continually pours out. This was Hot Springs.

With Los Angeles being the closest to me, I think I'll pass.

There is probably something close by to just about every location, that map is far from exhaustive. But if you find something add it! :D

So you just show up with buckets and start filling up with water, or what...?

carboys, but ya. :) This particular artesian well runs at 10 gal/minute and there are almost always several people waiting in line with their plastic carboys. It is regularily tested by the public water utility and is free to the public. I remember something similar in my home town and just about every other place I've lived across the US. The map I linked to is just starting I think, these places are all over.

BTW:

Artesian - water coming from a drilled well that taps an aquafer who's water table is above the tap point so the water flows out without needing to be pumped.

Spring - naturally flows out of the ground without a drilled well.
