Show Off Your Pots and Cups XII

by chicagopotter » Sep 30th, '09, 23:10

Moderator Edit: Welcome to Chapter XII. You can revisit the conclusion of the previous chapter by clicking here.

Just received a neat little teapot from Hong Seong Il http://blog.naver.com/ttogariiof Korea. It's not very big at 150ml, but what it lacks in size it fully makes up in character. Included were two matching teacups which hold about 50-60ml each. All three pieces are glazed in Shino with wood ash accents fired to cone 7 in gas reduction.

Seong il was also very kind to include two Korean teas, a green and a yellow. I believe they are from the Boesong.

Unfortunately haven't had the chance to try the teapot or tea just yet...

Really awesome, Geek! I like the base partially deox fired Kyusu, I have wanted a "plain one" by Shoryu like it for a few years. The Phaleonopsis orchids with the "sun" background is very cool!

Enjoy ... along with the equally awesome Biwa!

Say hey to Murphy.

I thought I might use this for a tea caddie.
The lid is tight, but I wouldn't keep greens in there.
maybe a weeks worth of 2nd flush darj, or something.

I believe I am partial, seing as my sweetie made this.

She seems to have quite a natural affinity for clay. Wonderful stuff!

Seto Yuzuriha handpainted teacup. These cups are traditionally produced and handpainted only by women.
