Night Time Treat - Peppermint and Chamomile

by purplerain168 » Oct 11th, '09, 15:39

My husband and I love tea and we always try different combination of tea. We recently discovered a wonderful night time treat: peppermint and chamomile. Steep a teaspoon of peppermint and a teaspoon of chamomile together in boiling water. It definitely helps me fall asleep fast and sleep deep.

MOD Edit, moved to the Herbal forum where this will be more at home.

I like chamomile with peppermint; that plus a few other things is the base for Bigelow's "Sweet Dreams" tea. I don't find that blend quite as relaxing or sleep-inducing as spearmint with chamomile, however (which is the basis of Celestial Seasonings "sleepytime").

I like blending my own herbal teas though...especially since we grow our own mints (peppermint, spearmint, and many others) and they always taste better than anything we can buy.

I agree I always enjoy chamomile tea with peppermint or any kind of mint really.

I have a signature blend that I created called "Vanilla Sleepytime". It contains chamomile, spearmint, and vanilla rooibos! It is sooo good, and perfect for bedtime because it's caffeine-free. Just thought I'd do a little self promotion.... but it's in an appropriate place, right?

Thanks for the heads up, Becky, I'll check that out. It does sound very tasty.

Sure! Not a problem. Thanks for the consideration. Half a dozen have already sold, but so far nobody has reviewed it. If you do make a purchase, please let me know what you think.

You should try adagio's foxtrot. It's a mix of peppermint, chamomile and rooibos. Mmmmmmmm... :D
