Ginkgo - Tea ware - Switzerland
Re: Ginkgo - Tea ware - Switzerland
Gingko,
Really nice iron red glaze on the Chawan above. Works well with black, a classic color combination.

Thanks at JBaymore : he has good eyes and notice that this bowl with tenmoku and ohata glaze has a crack , very fine like a hair around in the inside bottom : ( so this bowl is not for sale but I will keep it for me .) and so i will make others with this classic colors that is right but I like this red and black .
Thanks for seeing and writing too.

Some bowls are not easy to take pictures ...colors and forms and transparency .., all that is a whole thing and we can not have just a totality with a single photo.
I have made 2 bowls, one in porcelain and an other one, a little bigger, with a mix of porcelain and other clay.
I present here the second one: a ohata and shino with several glazes put one over the other.

You know it's my favorite, n'est-ce pas ? ^^
You should take a picture with some matcha inside. The intense green of the tea mixed with the colours of this bowl can be even more impressive. Put the whole thing in the snow as you did for the pictures of the "sensei-seigan" chawan sent to Hide and I'll buy the photo fore sure
Bye Ginkgo.

Hi Ginkgo,
This is not first place I can admire your pots. Please, let show also some of your teapots...
Do you use feldspars from Switzerland? It is so white...or is it because you fire it in oxidation (I have never try it)?

hello !
yes I could show teapots too ...I just missed time to do all I would like to !!!
I mixed porcelain with an other clay so it is rather white background to put glaze over. I use differents feldspars , depend of what kind of glaze I want but I think they are not from Switzerland , rather english or geman I think but I am not sure !oxidation firing changes the color of the clay body that is sure , it is less grey because there are no carbon oxide coming inside the clay ...so perhaps that is multiple factors for this white !

2 little tea bowls , one black ( tenmoku and ohatta): diam.: 10 cm and haut.: 7,4 cm and one white with shino , diam.. 10 cm , haut.: 6,8 cm .
These can be used for gong fu cha for exemple .
