Re: Tea Burger
I was wondering when you were going to create this one, after you posted about it the other day... I must admit, I'm curious.

Re: Tea Burger
I wasn't a fan of the lapsang and I kept trying to like it but couldn't really get past a few sips. So the other night I was really just playing around, seeing what seemed kinda crazy but perhaps doable. And this happened.
I set the mix to 20% laps, 40% sesame, and 40% white cucumber.
I think it's just enough smokiness to show up but not overwhelm. Sesame alone tastes pretty mild to me (maybe not mild but... it's not a crazy, out there flavor) so it seems to serve as a nice middle-ground, equalizer/filler of sorts. And the cucumber, well I guess you like it or not.
Because of the black/white mix, I've been brewing around 190* for 3ish minutes and it seems to pull out enough of all the flavors nicely.

Re: Tea Burger
That's... frightening. The burger, not your tea. Thanks for posting that pic you found, I was about to go look it up myself

Re: Tea Burger
That tea is...
Interesting. It sounds good, though - the clean taste of white cucumber along with the smokiness of Lapsang Souchong.

Re: Tea Burger
HOKAY, so last night I finally cooked with this blend. Grilled tea burger chicken. Pretty good flavor.
I marinated the chicken in some brewed tea and pulverized dry leaf.
Hmmm what's next... tea burger bread... tea burger salsa... tea burger sorbet!?
