So I got an Adagio shipment today and was very excited to see/smell all of my new teas. When I opened one of the signature blends I ordered there was a 4 inch grey or blonde strand of hair in it right on top. To be honest, it doesn't bother ME all that much. I have never sent food back that had a piece of hair in it; there are much worse things to find in food! So I just discarded it and brewed my tea.
But this is the second time it's happened. And the first time it was a little worse because it was in a tin of tea I gave to my mother-in-law. We both noticed it at the same time, she pulled it out, made a face, and went along and brewed up the tea anyway. I couldn't tell if she was totally disgusted, but didn't want to offend me by refusing to accept my gift. Kind of awkward.
Like I said, I'm not grossed out by it, and feel a little bad complaining, but just wondered if it is at all common. I figure this tea has been in a number of different places before it got to me, so I wouldn't automatically blame anybody at Adagio.

Re: Hair in my tea.
It happened to me once in a tin of pi lo chun.
I would assume that the tea is probably hand processed and that's how it got there.

Well, sounds like we can rule out Xine.beckynoel wrote:When I opened one of the signature blends I ordered there was a 4 inch grey or blonde strand of hair in it right on top.
Never hurts to contact customer service (Xine) directly and let 'em know.

I think I found some in a tin of hoji recently- like 1 inch long.
