How can I order from them, how do I need to communicate my card data. I would be interested in their top Kansai competition winning handrubbed sencha and their top gyokuro, if somebody has tried them, how are their top products?

You fill the order form on their site and they will reply via email. After that you can send your credit card number (by email or by postal letter, maybe by fax too).

At 3000 yen for 100gr you can't expect a tea to be awesome. Very nice asamushi. I however prefer Ujibashi san no ma or Kaboku but they are in the same category.

Olivierco, I assume you ment their gyokuro, 3000 Y for a gyokuro is middle category, generally high is at 6000 to 12000 Y, but for a sencha 3000 is high quality, generally shuppin grade asamushi cha`s cost that much give or take 1000 Y.

I was speaking of their senchas. As I am accustomed to senchas in the 2500-3500 yen range, I would reserve the word "awesome" for really exceptional teas (I am quite curious about the Teki Teki sencha from marukyu-koyamaen: if they had a more friendly store, I would already have ordered some)

I have had this vendor on my to try list for I believe approaching 2 years. They have some interesting products. Seems like a worthy vendor to try.

I think the level of difficulty in ordering from them makes me all the more curious, although ironically had they been easier to order from I would have a long time ago.

It's a shame they don't accept Paypal. I just recently made some purchases from a vendor in another country, not for tea, that accepts Paypal. I sent the vendor an email with my order, he responded with a total cost including shipping, and I sent him money via Paypal. That way there's no credit card number floating around in a hackable format - which I don't believe has happened to Paypal.

Olivierco I had the exact same idea, I wanted to try Teki Teki from Marukyu Koyamaen, but they are just as difficult to order from, this is a picture of it http://www.japantea.hu/index.php?pageid ... id=9&id=13 ,
and this is a picture of Chitose no Homare (just scroll down)

These both are on my list of expenceive teas that I need to try.

wow, their handrubbed sencha really sounds exciting.Sadly no pics of it on their site.
The teki-teki from Marukyu Koyamaen is an outstanding tea, imho one of the best sencha i had,but decide for yourself i can only recommend it.

i was in their shop in tokyo, and tried a few shinchas. really nice stuff, and really nice people. they showed me a poster verifying that they did indeed win the 62nd annual hand rubbed sencha category. i bought that sencha and will review when i open it.

point is, what i have tried was great, looking forward to more, and yes, their website ordering is time consuming but may indeed be worth it.
