Anyone know anything about the health effects of mugi-cha? We drink a lot of it in the summer.......

Don't know about the health benefits, but it is a great alternative beverage ... hot or cold.

I like to roast my own ... and make my own blends.

Funny video, but I will just drink it because I like it.

I am here refering to blends with mugi. Genmai (usually home roasted as well) with various types of rice which I find generally better than any I have purchased.

Other roasted grains such as buckwheat, corn. Some Korean influence.

Sometimes leftover or not the greatest sencha, etc ... kukicha ... also sometimes roasted and sometimes not. Matcha ... bancha ... always thinking.

In Asia, many women take it as a "slimming tea". Meantime, any soup or "tea" made with roasted rice is regarded as having slimming effect. I like barley or rice tea, but I simply don't see any slimming effects from them
