Anyone had this before?
I haven't tried it yet, but am curious if Kyul Myeong will make me think of Rou Gui oolongs differently.

I received a sample of a tea called "Bright Eyes Tea" aka Kyul Myeong. My Korean coworkers have never heard of it, but research online indicates it's the roasted seeds of the cassia tree.
Anyone had this before?

Did you ever try this, Rou Gui crossed my mind as well? Seems I have seen the name, Kyul Myeong.

Maybe you had a sample as Hankook sells it. I'm thinking about going up there this weekend it's been awhile. I want to check out some of their herbals and it's nice to get tasting samples, rather than buying blind.

Oh, right. They did include a sample with an order. This is nothing like Cassia. It is more like highly roasted mugi to the point I would say it is on the verge of being more coffee like.
It is actually too roasted for my tastes but I do use it in blends with mugi and genmai.
