Fantastic wares Victoria, IPT, Iannon, and Serg. Thank you all for sharing.
BTW, IPT, that is some extreme crackling on that piece, any inside shots you could share?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ... love these shots Serg!!!! Great lighting, I agree, oh and by the way, the guinomi ain't bad either!
(pomegranates are amazingly photogenic, arent't they?)
Thanks for sharing your lovelies with us. I have a red and purple yunomi from one of our TeawareArtisians, chicagopotter, that reminds me of your guinomi!

What a marvelous comparison, the cup and the pomegranate. Just gorgeous.

IPT wrote:I just acquired this tea cup. It was made in Taiwan. It stained very quickly. I've only been using it for two days. It is a small cup and filled to the brim holds 50ml of tea. And yes, I know, the photos aren't so great.

wow
Its been a while since my last visit
Anyways, i received a kyusu as a gift from a friend who lives in Tokyo. She came over and got this for me

She told me she got me a small teapot but it turn out to be larger than my kettle. As you can see in the 1st pic

An purported early 20th century gaiwan I recently picked up. The lid fit is decent, though I love the "flared" plate on this one. Got it because I was interesting in seeing how vintage/antique pieces affect tea, and also because it was 50% off

And a 30s Japanese sake cup, which I'm using for older pu-erh. Old tea deserves an old cup.

Finally, a chachong to accompany my tea sessions...already picking up a nice shine

That Gaiwan is definately from the Republican period. Any markings on the bottom? Could I see a pic please? I collect Republican period Tea Ware and haven't seen one exactly like this. Other than the chipping on the lid knob, it looks to be in fantastic shape. The gold is very easily worn off, so clean it very gently.

And gold will most probably contain lead - so use also gently your teeth ...
Any way: nice catches.

My pleasure
I can't believe how quickly it's stained. It's only from 3 days of use and it looks like it's still getting darker. I'm excited to see what it'll eventually look like.
