Looking for a good morning tea

by Kellyring » Mar 17th, '10, 09:23

I like caffeine. I know it is not that great for you but I gave coffee up. Prefer tea t coffee any day but I still want my morning kick. Have been wanting to try Sip Smart! but every time I go to order it, it is out of stock. Also, the creator is no longer in the directory when I do a search. Anyways, looking for suggestions on a sweet but not "fru-fru" like morning tea. Something that is not bitter but not chocolately if you know what I mean. Just tea... preferably green. New to all this - prior to this bought my tea at Walmart! ha! Thanks everyone!!

I have two to suggest - of the signature blends....

A.M. Wake Up by Woodie Barnes
http://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/b ... crollTop=0

and

Silk Road by Tanya Laird (me)
http://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/b ... crollTop=0

Look Woodie - I put you first!! They may LOOK like the same blend but they are actually different. Woodie's is smokier tasting, while mine is a lighter and heavier on the malty flavors. So, take your pick - either one will DEFINATELY wake you up in the morning

Cheers!
Aphy

I have tried Silk Road by Tanya Laird and it's really nice! Have not tried A.M. Wake Up but it was among best selling teas for quite some time.
Quite a few people have mentioned that they like Aquarius (The Zodiac Series) as their morning tea. Depends on a personal preference I suppose.
One of my favorites: Red Dragon http://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/b ... cb8d6dca37
(But unfortunately it's not available right now)

Boy, did you ever come to the right place to find a coffee substitute -- there are so many *fabulous* blends!

Here are my two cents (and by cents, I seem to mean blend suggestions:)
It's not green, but Southworth is a fabulous morning tea -- take a peek at the review, Zack even suggests is as a coffee substitute :> The rooibos caramel helps soften the oomph of the other two ceylons, but it's still pretty robust. Not bitter, but a strong, interestingly sweet tea.

As far as green goes, there's also The Big Lebowski -- it's Artichoke Green, Citron Green and Lemongrass, and it's very clean tasting.

Enjoy!

I forgot to list a green.....I actually do have a kick-in-your-pants green. It was a popular blend of mine called The 9th Doctor, but it has a new name and label now....Riot Proof (name says it all really....)

You have so many wonderful choices but one ever said the decision would be easy. My suggestion is Smooth Sophistication. http://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/b ... 81e6400cd6 It is currently out of stock but should be back in soon. It is very unique, rich, a little creamy, and a bit "high brow" I enjoy it.

Good luck on your search
Rachel :D
