I bought the Xiaguan Gold Tou Cha - 100 grams for about $20 from Tea Springs. I have only tried a few pu erhs, but in my limited experience, this is excellent. I don't know how to describe the flavor, but for being a green tea, it is very pronounced. It lasts through multiple steepings.
I once went to a Chinese strip mall take out place. When they asked me what I wanted to drink I told them hot tea and they looked at me kind of funny. I guess they're used to everyone ordering soda. Anyway, the woman poured some hot water from the coffee machine into a paper cup then tossed in a spoonful of leaves from a tea tin. I didn't expect much, but when I tasted that tea I thought it was fantastic. Now I think that was very similar to what I bought from Tea Springs.
