Finding replacements for Teavana teas...

by karmaplace » Jun 8th, '10, 11:40

Teavana used to be the closest tea store to me, and also gave me automatic 10% discounts because I was a mall employee, but as my tea supplies are getting low I'm ready to try new vendors. HOWEVER, there are a few Teavana blends that I absolutely love, but if I can find a similar replacement tea from another source, I will be more than willing to make the switch. The teas I'm looking to replace but will still buy from Teavana if need be are:

Apple Lemon Pomegranate Rooibus

Ingredients: Apple pieces, green Rooibos tea, cardamom, lemongrass, pomegranate pieces, flavoring, morello cherries, rose petals and pomegranate blossoms.

Fruta Bomba Green (I'm willing to substitute this for any recommended tropical fruity greens, though I'm not a huge fan of mango)
http://www.teavana.com/_/wlid=85854/sho ... uctDetails
Ingredients: Green tea, red Rooibos, peach bits, apple bits, candied papaya, carrot bits, raisins and marigold, mallow, and sunflower petals.

Utopian Jewel Oolong
http://www.teavana.com/_/wlid=85855/sho ... uctDetails
Ingredients: Oolong tea, raspberries, strawberry pieces, apple bits, raisins, carrot bits, beetroot pieces and malt.

White Ayurvedic Chai
http://www.teavana.com/_/wlid=85856/sho ... uctDetails
Ingredients: White tea, green tea, cinnamon, lemongrass, red pepper, bruised black pepper, coconut chips, cardamom and cloves.

The replacements don't even have the be the same type of teas as long as they have similar ingredients and/or tastes. I appreciate any advice or recommendations!

Really? Not one recommendation? I've had several other teas from Teavana that I drank for a while, but I'm done, so liking these four really isn't a lot by comparison.

I'm also looking for recommendations on vendors for masala chai and white teas, if anyone can help.
