Ultimate list collection of tea's recommended on tea chat.

Postby jaquettec » Jun 10th, '10, 16:55

spent about 30 min using the search function and writing down every tea that has been recommended from two recent threads. I still have more to search but I am sending what I have so far. I posted it in here becuase it is popular forum and dont where where else to put it. This is my first post and I have never made loose leaf tea before and dont know what tea to get.

Hi there and welcome. Well the green forum is not the right place, because there are many different teas listed. I'm sure the mod will move it to the appropriate forum.

You certainly have done a lot of homework, what is the objective of this list?

purpose of the list is to find the best tea. All of the tea's on the lists are what users have considered their favorite teas

Well that's a pretty big range. Are you going to try to narrow it down to what you are interested in? Or it is just to serve as history of our members favorite teas?

While a history of our uses favorites might be useful to everyone I would like to narrow it down to what I like. However, since I have never had anything but a few cheap teabags it is not possible to narrow anything down at this point. So actually, if you have any suggestion on how I can sample a lot of different types of teas at a cheap price, please tell me. I would be thankful.

If you have been drinking bagged, then it was most likely black, right? Was it flavored or just plain?

If it was flavored and you liked it, then look at the flavors above and then go to Adagio and buy a few sample tins.

Or you can get a sampler set with an ingenuiTea pot here:

Thanks I bought that Den's Kyusu that everyone was saying to get and it is coming with a few greens. So I have no need to buy the ingenutea. But I have already been looking at the samples. I dont know what samples to get though, will look at some reviews. I dont remember much about the teabags but I tried all different ones and I dont want to base my opinion on those anyway because I dont think that is an accurate base to judge on.

Ok , if you have the Den's and the green sample pack -
Try a green oolong and a darker oolong. A white tea and one of the fuller leaf blacks. Maybe these:
# Wuyi Yancha (2) (Adagio's wuyi ensemble)
# Baozhong (4) (Adagio's pouchong)
# Yunnan Noir
# silver needles

WOW! You certainly did your research. However, Victoria's suggestions will help you narrow it down a bit. Personally, I wouldn't try a Pu erh yet; unless you really love mushrooms. The couple I have tried have had a distinct mushroom aroma/taste.

I have tried a lot of teas unfamiliar to me before joining TeaChat in December. Everyone has been very helpful. I hope you find it so. :D
