Yerba: Pixie Mate?

by xine » May 29th, '07, 14:51

I just ordered the Pixie Mate original concentrate (one to mix with milk) and the Chocolate Mate Solstice teabags. Has anybody ever had the Pixie Mate brand mates? This will be my first time trying mate- any suggestions?

The Pixie mate was okay, but it didn't taste like mate to me, and it was a tad bitter. There were something like four flavors in all, and I forgot which one I tried exactly. My opinion is that if one likes that kind of stuff, mixes like chai and what not, one will probably like the Pixie Mate.

The only other taste of mate i've had is this Rainforest Mate from Mighty Leaf, at a show, and I don't remember the taste too clearly; it was a bit fruity. The Pixie Mate sounded appealing, because I've been getting a lot of sweet cravings, and wanted to change it up (I usually drink rooibos almond or vanilla when I get those cravings).

Any other rec's for mate?
