New to Oolong..

Owes its flavors to oxidation levels between green & black tea.

New to Oolong..

I just received my tea order!! With it I got a trial bag of Peachy Oolong. It's in a mesh teabag. It says to steep in boiling water. Do I put it actively boiling water or do they just mean the usual 212 fahrenheit deal?

It smells lovely and I can't make up my mind if I want to try that or the other goodies I got!! :lol:

Bring the water to a boil, let it stop rumbling, then pour it in the cup over the tea bag. 3 mins max.

And remember, although peach is close to a natural oolong flavor,
it still is flavored and not a good representation of oolong tea.
Not to mention, not the best leaves are used in those blends.

dive in and experiment that's what i do... i'm getting back into using my Yixing pots so i'm going to order a bunch of oolong and black teas. You'll never know until you try, and everybody is idiosyncratic regarding taste anyway.

All the tea came from Adagio. I eventually wound up ripping the mesh bag and pouring the tea straight into the pot before adding the water. I've gotten so 'used' to loose tea now I can't be bothered with bags. :lol:

Picky, I know, but I probably won't ever drink a tea that isn't already 'flavored' in some way. I simply prefer tisanes over all and flavored teas are the next closest thing.

How come you ordered tea bags if you prefer loose tea? :P Or was it a gift?

The Peachy Oolong was just a single tea bag in a small vacuum-sealed packet. Totally unexpected. And very nice.
