New to tea in AZ (sorry for the horrid rhyme)

by Nibbs » Jun 22nd, '10, 12:54

I just had my first cup of Earl Grey about two weeks ago, and oh my dark lord Voldy it was amazing! :D So now i am going to be buying the IngenuiTEA and a basic kettle. Hopefully in August my wife is going to buy me the UtiliTEA kettle for my birthday. Anyway, i have been geeking over tea and reading everything i can but was hoping to hear from tea enthusiasts and their experiences and, maybe, even some pitfalls to be avoided when first getting started.

Buying small amounts such as in samples is the way to go when you can. And avoid the "I want to try everything" syndrome ... there is no cure!

Welcome to the forum. I hope to see you around the place.

You seem to be off to a sound start. The IngenuiTEA is how a lot of us here got our start. And the kettle will be a nice investment that you will continue to use long after you move on from the IngenuiTEA.
Welcome!

Welcome Nibbs! I use the IngenuiTEA as well, and have the UtiliTEA at home and work - they are great!

Glad you found TeaChat early in your tea search - I wish I had found it a bit sooner :). Lots of info here.

Hi Nibbs.

Don't listen to Chip. Want to try everything, just pace yourself. I don't need to pace myself, my wife does it for me.

Welcome!
...Who says you have to move on from the IngenuiTEA?
I eventually want a 2nd one so I can stop using an infuser at work

Anyway, welcome, glad you found us, and hope you find some great info and even better teas!

Hey Nibbs! It's nice to see another Arizonan on the forum. I have the ingenuitea. I loved it when I first got it. Now they are changing the design. I have the one with the removable strainer. I have bought very few tea wares, but I want more! I also just recently purchased the pao i teapot you can check it out at purepuer.com.

Hi Nibbs,

I'm here for just a short time too.
And have to tell you - folks here are all crazy - but don't tell em.
Perhaps that's why I feel like at home on this board.
And I am addicted to tea - just try everything :)

have fun
Marco
