I got it over the weekend, and have been nomming away - my good gracious it's a lot of tea! Not to mention that I am participating in the OTTIs a few posts down, and that greenthread is in season now so I've gotten a few bundles of that as well = I feel like a fiend! Ha, love it though.

Here's what's happened sofar:

pie hole
So I started off by chugging the last of the Pie Hole...down my pie hole. LOL. So yeah, I capped that one off, sorry guys, but this one I've been waiting on for a while and I couldn't pass it up! I'm not overly keen on "dessert" teas, too sugary just makes me twitch, but this one was definitely very drinkable. Not over sweet or over fruity, but a nice balance of the two.

sweet velvet fog
Yum. yummity flippin yum. This is like the cashmere of teas; very smooth and cozy. It was on the "to try" list before, too, and it'll definitely get ordered again.

seasons of hades
So I must say, this one caught me off guard. I took a sniff of all the teas, which helped me decide which I was trying right off the bat and which to save for later...and I never would have thought to pick this one up otherwise. It's strange, somehow the pom mixing with the lap made a cinnamon note - and in an exceedingly good way! And, once I got to thinking about it, I've decided on a few more blends that would be great spin offs and I'm looking forward to experimenting with it myself.

a hard smack on the fanny
Drinking this one right now, and it's exactly as advertised! Makes an excellent breakfast cuppa. This was another of those teas on my favorites list that I put off buying until the box came, and man. So glad I was finally able to try it!

Rhys M. Halloran's Favorite
I did like this one, but I must say - at first I forgot it was a white tea, so I kept thinking that it wasn't done steeping because the color was so light...amazingly it didn't get astringent or bitter at all. The scent/flavor is very light, but it's still quite full in its own way. And I was introduced to a tv programme I probably never would have found otherwise!

Bella's Lullaby
Ok so I cracked and went to see Eclipse last night with some friends. I figured a special blend would only be appropriate, of course, and this one smelled the tastiest of the lot. Now, unfortunately I'm sortof funny when it comes to chamomile, so I probably won't be ordering this one again for myself, but that being said: it was still very nice. The blending was well done - you can taste each of the flavors, but none individually overpowers another. Thumbs up!

Should have more reviews up soon - been cramming for a summer midterm, but the light at the end of the tunnel draws nigh...I've pm-ed Sojourne to send it on as well. :)

Pub Fight
I've come to discover, through little tea-ventures such as this, that I really just am not a huge fan of rooibos...at least not on it's own. It's just too rooibossy! Cut with a black tea blend, though (and then cut with a 50/50 water/milk steep), I find it a very tasty coffee alternative! Pub Fight didn't let me down; very warm and rich.

Summer Passion
The dry leaves of this one smelled so nice! All that fruit came forward like whoa on the steep, though, and wound up being a bit sweet for my taste. I will say - if you like the "zinger" type teas, you'll probably enjoy this one! I didn't so much, but when I passed it down to my daughter she loved it!

Smooth Sophistication
Mmmmm. I liked this one - what's odd though? I got a dark flavor with a berry hint at the end, and now that I've looked it up there's no berry at all. My palette is so wacky sometimes!

Amortentia
Again with the rooibos, I know. It's so good in little bits though! Like with this tea, for example? It has jasmine and chocolate, tasty...but when you add it to the rooibos and honeybush it creates this super!amaretto-type vibe that tastes (to me) an awful lot like cherry cordials. :)

What lovely reviews :) This is all getting more exciting! I feel like going and making some blends now, heh.

Just slightly off topic:

That had me curious to go looking up what greenthread is; I'll have to go find some now :P

Sad but true, here are the last few of my sample teas before the box gets underway...my kitchen will look so empty without a great hulking box in the middle of the table. :(
Samurai
Somehow this tea manages to be warm, bu very sharp at the same time...I really love it, and have put it on my favorites list (which gets longer by the day). I couldn't place the aromas at all when I sniffied the dry leaves, but somehow I was still surprised when I looked it up. This was my first experience with Kukicha, as it is consistently out of stock - - I expected from the sound of it I would like it, and I haven't been let down.

Icicle
This one got me through my midterm! Very minty, but the cinnamon at first throws your senses off a bit; the blendstress describes it as "playful," and I'd say I definitely agree.

Suede
Another very aptly monikered tea! This is one smooth, velvety cup of goodness. It reminds me of a holiday drink, not really because of the flavor but more because it's very comforting, if that even makes sense. Like the other few I've mentioned, it'd also make a great morning cuppa. Plus the color is some sort of insane dark red, I don't even know how that happens, but it's beautiful!

Tango
The lemongrass seemed to dominate this blend to me, which was just fine and dandy since I would put the stuff in all my food if I were allowed. Nonetheless, I can see how it might be a bit acerbic if not properly controlled. I tasted a general fruitiness, but didn't pick up on it being blood orange until I looked it up...I bet this would be great sweetened a bit and iced! I never gave mine a chance to cool off, but I'm just sayin'.

Perry the Platypus
This is a deliciously warming spicy tea. I added a little milk to it and it held up quite well. I like milk in my spicy/chai teas. The vanilla and cream make it a lightly sweet spice tea, just how I like them. No need to add any sugar. Definitely will add this to my list of favorites.

A Pie Hole
This one turned a little bitter on me, but I was surprised at how much flavor it still had left. I believe it had been in the box since the beginning go rounds, as there was just a smidgen left. Love the flavor of this tea, lightly fruity and slightly spicy. Looking at the teas involved, I didn't really taste the almond, but everything was blended so nicely.

Warm Smell of Colitas (Eagles) Tea
Wow is this one berry fruity! This is a lemony, berry, slightly tart green/white tea. I wasn’t sure quite how to brew this one, but it turned out pretty great. I like the natural sweetness from the berry blast. I bet this would make one heck of an iced tea! Glad I have a bit more to try.http://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/b ... crollTop=0

Well I sent a pm to Sojourne, and didn't hear anything back...I was out of town this weekend, figured it'd show up while I was out, but I still haven't gotten a reply.
LOL now I wish I hadn't boxed everything up already. :(

Looks like Sojourne has not been active since April. So, I will be removing this name from the pass list. Myemmie, if you can pass on to the next person please... thanks!

For any newcomers who have been frustrated that I wouldn't put them straight onto the pass list, this is why. New members sometimes start out very enthusiastic, and then disappear for one reason or another. I just like to make sure the box of tea doesn't disappear along with them. :D

The list remains open to "established members"... been here for a while, posting regularly, etc. Please PM me if you're interested in joining.
