Re: Milk in your black tea?
Personally, I have a bit of a sweet tooth and I'm a sucker for coffee in the morning. With black tea, I've heard it goes well with steamed milk and sweetened with honey. I haven't tried it yet. I have some Tazo "Awake" tea, that I plan to try it tomorrow morning. I made a Starbucks run this morning.
I've also heard Gunpowder tea is good in the morning too.

Milk in tea? No, unless it is a yummy cold bubble tea, lol!
Edited: I forgot about Chai tea after checking a post above. But do Chai teas qualify as blacks? If they do, then yes I enjoy chai with soy milk and honey.

Does that mean hot milk or water added to milk (not vice versa) =stain free cups?rmisra9 wrote:If you add milk into tea, it causes the tannins to precipitate out and stain your cup, and change the flavour. Try it for yourself and find out.
Re: Milk in your black tea?
Generally, I do milk and either honey or sugar in my black tea. Sometimes I put honey in a tisane, but never milk. I only put milk in black tea.
Re: Milk in your black tea?

Re: Milk in your black tea?
Black tea is the only tea i ever take with milk. English Breakfast Tea and Irish Breakfast Tea are very good with just a little milk. I add the milk cold. I think this is because these two teas are very close to coffee, and I sometimes put a little milk with my coffee. Darjeeling is ok with just a touch of milk.

i take the strong breakfast teas with a spot (and i do mean a spot) of milk. occasionally afternoon tea blends. never for earl grey which is my fav for a relaxing afternoon tea and scone, and never for darjeelings.
Re: Milk in your black tea?
Growing up in the UK, I always put milk in my tea - it's only within the last couple of years that I actually thought of trying tea without milk.
Blimey, who'd have thought different teas would taste, well, different? Until then, tea (with milk) was either strong or weak. There was no taste variation.
I couldn't go back to milk tea, although I'll boil myself the occasional chai.

I dig a drop of creamer in my cream tea actually. It seems.. right.
However, my mom drinks tea straight, no milk whatsoever. She hates milk!

I love my English Breakfast or Golden Monkey with a little almond milk! It makes it really creamy and delicious. Soy milk is good with it too. I once tried steaming it so it was nice an frothy and added it and it was like a tea latte, very delicious and low fat and low calories!
