This is the first time I've seen a combo tea and sake set. Looks like a very unique aquisition. Great find!

I relaly liked that one to K. it looks almost like a "Hares Fur" tea bowl thats in the museum here.AdamMY wrote:That is Stunning Kymidwife!
I've been trying to learn to identify certain glazes by type, and that could either be a Tenmoku (oil spot), or a Nuka. But those are really only my guesses.
Either way, simply stunning.

Wow
Cory I love that carved double wall.
Here is a tea caddy:
and a new cup, I call the Stewie cup, it was ovaled in the kiln
and thus looks like Stewie"s head from "Family Guy"
Very small, great for sake

My new "singing" cups. The size and shape is perfect for oolongs. A very nice porcelain with the slightest green tint and of course a green dragon in the bottom. Unusual to find a cup like this in green.

Re: Show Off Your Pots and Cups XIV
Finally had a chance to (somewhat properly) photograph one of my Melanie Sherman pieces (http://www.etsy.com/shop/MelanieSherman and http://www.etsy.com/shop/porzellankiste). I had actually ordered a different cup from this, but it broke as she was packing it, so she sent me this cup as well as its sister. Inside I'm enjoying some nice cold brewed berry oolong.
Here's a shoddy cupboard picture of the whole family.
I had to use the bowl today for soup because of its small size, so I took some mediocre foodie pictures for my family back home.
Looks like I need to work on developing some patience and review the teaware photographing guide.

Alright so I technically do not use these for Tea, but my mother got them many years ago at an Art Fair/exhibition, and she donated them to me. and Well they could be used for tea.

They look especially nice in the shot with the tea in them. Very good picture!Victoria wrote:My new "singing" cups. The size and shape is perfect for oolongs. A very nice porcelain with the slightest green tint and of course a green dragon in the bottom. Unusual to find a cup like this in green.
I have a similar pair of singing oolong cups and although I haven't been able to make them sing, they're really good cups for all types of oolong. I've used them for everything from High Mountain to Oriental Beauty. They're one of the better tea investments I've made.
Re: Show Off Your Pots and Cups XIV
Yeah, mine don't sing much either. Maybe just a little. Still they are cool and they really do seem to enhance the oolongs; especially the fragrance, it really seems to float off the surface. I like that the tea cools faster too, I'm not much on super hot tea.

This is my new gaiwan set from Dragon teahouse, I have recieved it just recently, it is thin porcelain, the gaiwan is a little jewel.
