Thursday TeaDay 9/9/10 TeaBashing?

by Chip » Sep 9th, '10, 00:12

Greetings fellow tea lovers. Please drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed Teaware pairings. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today, we get to bash a tea, a rare negative TeaDay. So, if one tea was the last tea on the entire planet, but you still would not brew it, let alone drink it, what would it be? Why this tea?

I am looking forward to sharing my TeaDay with everyone here today. So, bottoms up, refill, repeat many times.

+1. Though Rooibos comes close.. but I still think the taste of Rooibos might grow on me eventually...
Headed out to work, so no tea yet. Thinking Yunnan...

I'm fine with all of them I can think of, no doubt there is some herbal or 'other' out there that would break me.

If there was only one tea left on the planet I'd probably be roasting my own coffee beans by the end of the week.

Seriously allergic to anything with Lemongrass it in, so that falls into the "would rather die of thirst" catagory. Other than that, I haven't tried all the others yet so can't say if they'd make the list or not.

Drinking Yunnan Jig this morning. It's become my "first cup of the morning" tea. I branch out as the day progresses. Just tried the Yunnan Gold yesterday and loved it. I need to do a side by side taste test to see what I'm going to order when my supplies run low.

Rooibos, Kombucha (although my husband does like it), followed by most Herbals. I guess just about anything that isn't "real" tea.

Had some yummy Grand Qimen this morning with breakfast. Not sure what the work tea will be yet.

Don't really know, but am sure it would not be made from Camellia sinensis !! I really don't care for the beverages called "Tea" that are made from anything else.

Running late with my Tea this morning; none yet.

The highest on my list for this question is this weird chocolate-hazelnut flavored tea that my mother bought once. It tasted really vile, absolutely nothing like chocolate, hazelnuts, or tea-- just chemicals. After that comes fruit-flavored teas, then yerba mate because drinking it makes me ill for some reason.

Keemun this morning. I'm going to Chinatown today, so hopefully I will return with more tea.

Perhaps I should have left the herbals, etc. out of this, keep it just tea?

I could almost say Lapsang Souchong, almost. But I think I could adapt to it. I could likely adapt to even the kombucha, maybe. I never have rooibus, so who knows. Yerba Mate, not a clue.

I have had some herbals that are OK, but others that really could never be enjoyed, also some flavored that would never enjoyed. Perhaps I should have had a flavored option?

Began the TD with a Fukamushi. SweeTea joined in while Pyrit and Wulong were just visiting the TeaTable.

Got 3 asamushi from Maiko yesterday!

Nice! Let us know how they turn out!

I'd say Rooibos 'cause I really can't stand that stuff. I haven't tried many herbals so I wouldn't know about those.

Drinking a 2004 Changtai cake from HouDe today, forgot what it's called. It is great though! Syrupy mouthfeel, super sweet & quite complex for having some wet-storage.
