Kopi Luwak - Most expensive coffee | Picture heavy

Kopi Luwak
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_Luwak
Coffee from poop :?

Initially before deciding to taste it, there is the 'fear factor' in me. But from the aroma of beans being grinned, I just couldn't resist but to taste the poop  The roasted beans smells good and no poop smell. The coffee tasted bitter strong with good aroma. I liked it black without sugar and milk. Real hardcore taste.

Here are some photos I've taken from my visit to a Kopi Luwak shop in Indonesia. Sorry for the picture spam 8)

the WP page says:
"After gathering, thorough washing, sun drying, light roasting and brewing, these beans yield an aromatic coffee..."

thorough washing, what relief

After all it is but a living manufacture that is used. Very clever. And you are a Knight Taster on his white horse

There's a couple of these types of coffee; I know there's another that goes through some type of lizard in the Amazon(?) as well.

I'd be curious to try it (between washing and roasting, I would feel pretty comfortable), as long as I didn't have to pay a fortune to do so. I've also always wanted to try the really high-quality coffee that some people go on and on about.

Hey! Wait a minute! This is a tea forum! Grrr! How dare you mention coffee here!

I'm just kidding. Every single day, when people see me drinking tea, they always say, "but I thought westerners only drank coffee!"

Me too. You CAN order it, but there is no telling how fresh it is and you pay an arm and a leg.

This "poop" coffee seems a bit gimmicky, but I've never tried it so who am I to say. I've had Ganoderma "mushroom" coffee though, and thought it wasn't bad.

I can't vouch for the health benefits, but it couldn't hurt, right?

...Okay, back to tea, poop tea.

Everyone should know of it since "The bucket list" with two of the greatest actors.
You didn't tell us how it did taste? Was it any good? A better coffee than you knew before?
