New to Oolong
I have never had a good Oolong tea. What would you recommend as one to try first? I'd prefer a darker tea.
Dark teas? Well i presume you mean more oxidized? Try Ti Kuan Yin, or Iron Goddess of Mercy..while its not my favorite, as far as "dark" oolongs go is pretty damn good.
But if you can get away from shade, Try a nice Formosa oolong like Jade Oolong or Pouchong Oolong...both of which can be found at Adagio.com

Iron Goddess of Mercy totally rocks. I also drink Wuyi Oolong. Last week I ordered from Pu Ehr shop, b/c they're local for me. They also have a selection of oolong.
I got an Oolong that is hand-rolled in licorace and ginsing:

Since you've never tried any oolongs before, you might give the jade oolongs a chance. Even though you prefer darker teas right now, the greener ones are probably unlike anything you've had before. Try a Tung Ting or other Taiwan high-mountain oolong. Wuyi oolongs are also very very good; you might try Shui Xian, Lao Cong Shui Xian, or Rou Gui. You could also try a Phoenix Dancong.
i have a question about this too.....
in college i loved oolong. i used to get this fuijan oolong from an asian mall. i also liked the oriental tea in a blue box by whatever brand it is that makes constant comment.
i got the adagio oolong sampler and i LOVED oolong #40 and the jasmine pearls but that oolong #18 tasted like poision and pouchong...well it's growing on me but still not a fave.
i like that malty fruity flavors of oolong and NOT the smokey ones....any recomendations?
