2010 teas to get from HouDe?

by Rainy-Day » Sep 30th, '10, 11:17

I'm ordering oolongs from HouDe, what would you recommend?; mainly out of 2010 teas but maybe other years too, if it's really good. I want to get 3-5 oolongs and one puerh. I don't want to get DanCong this time as I still have a lot left! I really like their bao zhong.

[edit: for puerh, I don't want to spend more than ~$30 at this time..]

The 2010 Spring Premium Pin-Lin Bao Zhong is excellent.

The Rou Gui is quite good.

I would not recommend the 2010 Bai Hao. Very insipid.

+1

Though machine harvested the dong ding is an affordable good tasting casual brewer that works great for thermos tea.

Their 2010 Spring A-Li-Shan Zhang-Shu-Hu Oolong, Hand-Harvested looks like it would not disappoint.

I recently ordered the Spring 2010 Pin Lin Bao Zhong and the high-mountain Shui Feng. I was very happy with both of these.

I did not care as much for the 2010 Bai Hao (Oriental Beauty). I thought the 2009 Bai Hao was fantastic but it's no longer in stock.

Excellent, because I was going to order bai hao, having never tried it before. I'll get something else instead. How about an inexpensive puer, anybody?

I tried this years high mountain offering, even as I type I am drinking Alishan, I also bought Li Shan Tsui Feng, Shan lin xi, Nantou Si Ji. The 3 hand harvested high mountain oolongs were very good, silky and creamy, but they lacked aroma and aftertaste, compared to Ta Yu Ling Kao Leng sold by Dragon teahouse, from Dong Ding Tea association, they all were inferior, that tea, that was truly amazing, but I asked Gordon if he could source fresh harvest from this comnpany, but he unfortunately can`t, but 2009 fall harvest was the best high mountain oolong I had.
