Nice dynamic duo!

Began the TD with the same tea, a prelim tasting of Miyabi internationally from O-Cha. SweeTea was front and center for the tasting while Sashi and Shincha were looking for a warm lap.

Mostly international and most of that is from the country of origin, but some is from US vendors like Floating Leaves Tea which know to source good teas :)

Also I do buy from local brick and mortar stores to fill the gaps between international orders. There´s a couple with good teas but their selection is limited and freshness is an issue with greens. Mostly I buy black teas from them, and some oolongs.

I had a hard time making the adjustment beyond B&Ms since I have always believed in supporting the local economy. But as so many of us know, this is virtually impossible ...

Currently a tasting ofr a tea from a domestic USA vendor, maybe you heard of them ... Adagio, Sencha Premier!

It wasn´t so hard for me...but I did find quite quickly that when ordering tea internationally it´s small businesses that I´m supporting :)

If it were monolithic tea trading corporations I was dealing with I would feel differently...but I´m dealing with people on a first name basis...Scott, Kevin, Sebastian, Benoy....ect :D

Globalism isn´t always bad

Sometimes the best result comes from putting everything out in an easily visible place, then put it away as you decide you don't feel like that tea at that time. and either you get down to one, or you get down to a few that you don't feel bad just choosing at random between.

Ohhhh, here I thought there was some magical mojo that was going to make a canister jump into my hands ... I feel silly standing staring there, wondering why it did not work for me. Figured it was my ADD.

I agree, visibility is key because out of site is easily out of mind for years.

Mostly international vendors so far, but I haven't had a lot of time to drink high quality tea so I haven't made many orders. I do buy from the teahouse I occasionally visit, but as they are nearly the only choice for tea in the area I find myself spending more time looking online at origin companies. I do wish I leaved near more brick and mortar stores though. It's this kind of absence of real teashops that makes me want to go out and start my own.

Tea today was the last of my Dong Ding oolong, some Tie Guan Yin, and some Silver Needle. A bit more tea than usual as I'm trying to find a good source of water for my tea... No luck so far.

Mostly domestic vendors-- I actually get most of my tea in Chinatown, in NYC. I don't get to make a lot of online orders, unfortunately.

Rose congou this afternoon, currently drinking a chrysanthemum tisane.

What is your local shop?

Today, inspired by another topic, I bring you tea at work:

Image

1--Kamjove KJ-350 infusion cup, leaves are a Nan Nuo loose sheng mao cha from Norbu (domestic vendor), from this afternoon's clinic
2--Thermos for carrying tea to clinic and meetings (sadly empty)
3--Pino digital kettle pro
4--bamboo tea tray with yunomi by Ginkgo and small koi gaiwan, currently preparing some Dragon Well tea, from Wing Hop Fung (domestic vendor)
5--basket for carrying yunomi with me to clinic
6--tea chat

and

sort of sorted by type of tea--greens, oolongs, shus, shengs....--most from domestic vendors, but some puerhs international vendors. The sencha (and oolong and black tea) from Japan lives at home. And other internationally vended teas, including some puerhs and oolongs, are all at home.
