OTTI Round 6 TGY, however you spell it.
Re: OTTI Round 6 TGY, however you spell it.
Tasting #2 now and it's my favorite so far. Wholesome and full in flavor, but leaves my mouth a little bit dry. But hey, that's why there is a #1.
I also had two sessions with #3 and it was my least favorite of the bunch. There was a flavor gap in the middle and back of the tongue that made the tea taste and feel very empty.

I had #1 again and I am still not sure how to place it with the others. Without a doubt it is a quality, well-rounded TGY, but I'm not sure I'd pay the premium price for it. Very enjoyable aroma, good longevity, and mouthfeel/flavor. Slightly vegetal, but still sweet with a great catch in the back of the throat and lingering aftertaste.
I discovered something interesting though. For the eight infusion yesterday I let it steep for about 1/2 hour. I didn't have time to drink it before leaving work so I put it in a mug and covered it with clear wrap and refrigerated it. This morning I drank it cold, and it was like drinking a very refreshing, lightly sweet melon infused tincture. Perhaps someone else could try this and see if they get the same impression. I wouldn't use this tea for iced tea, but the experience was interesting.

TGY makes by far the best iced tea I know of. Very refreshing. Sometimes cold brews are very interesting and I certainly never finish a tea session without letting the leaves brew for several hours. The result is often quite rewarding.

My rating: I really hesitated in trying #5 since I started with #1. I preferred #2. But #5 was actually very nice. I really liked it second best.
So my rating is #2 - #5 - #4 - #3 - #1
Thanks IPT for your generous donation that made this this tasting possible,
you are awesome! And thanks to Chip for all the work in packaging, coordinating and presenting! Also of course to Adagio for supplying the sample bags and allowing the freedom to pursue these OTTIs.

rounding out the OTTI with #1 again (i did 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 twice over).
The second rounds were different! I think i was more consistent in my brewing plus i began with lower temperatures.
i must admit, while #3 still edged out #2, #1 became much nicer to me!
so my rating would be 1, 3, 2 and 4/5.
big thank you to IPT n Chip!

Took me forever to sit down and give this the time it deserved.
My first round went like this in order from favorite to least favorite.
2-1-4-3-5
It was pretty tough ranking them when they were tasted over a couple of hours.
The next one I'll have to figure out a way to taste them side by side.
