According to a Facebook post by Silk Road Teas:
"Special Teas, a highly regarded tea company and Web seller, will fold into its parent company, Teavana, and soon cease operating as we know it. Since the 1990s, when ST began it business, Silk Road Teas has been a supplier of its competition-grade and unusual green, Oolong, black and white teas. Those of you who came to enjoy ST's offerings will find many of them on our site, available for your enjoyment!"
This is sad news as Special Teas was a decent source for FF Darjeelings. I will be sad to see them go.

Re: Special Teas to be dissolved
I had heard that the ST wholesale operation was shutting down in February 2011.
Back in September, it was indicated from very reliable sources that ST would maintain their online retail operations. Perhaps even this has changed.
Some earlier discussion on the matter ... http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... as#p171768

Re: Special Teas to be dissolved
There's also that powdered tea in the supermarkets,
which are easily dissolved.
Seriously, I'd like to know the outcome, as I see nothing on their site.

Well I just got a 50% off everything email, so it appears to be happening.

It might be only for previous customers, but I'm getting on their email list anyway!
