Water,
I figure since you go through all this effort, (and money) to seek out high quality tea's. It would only make sense to follow through and get a nice kind of water for your tea brewing.
Since after all water is the vital ingredient to all the teas I've ever heard about.

The tap water in my town tastes metallic. I don't even use that to cook with. Mineral water is over powering.

I've tried using Voss, Fiji, and smart water. Smart Water makes the best pot of tea. Fiji, is a bit too heavy and Voss. Takes longer to boil and adds a hint of Alkaline in the water. Its also a little to pricey.

So what kind of water do you use?

I don't know the brands you are talking about, but I always choose water with the fewer mineral residue in it.

Your boiling vessel will also have an influence, but it is another story.

If water would be paid the deserved attention we should have an entire section of this forum dedicated only to it. :lol:

I remember seeing somewhere "around the interwebs" a huge list with
waters of the world (bottled waters that is) but I am not capable of finding it again.

I am using a low mineral content water for the moment, local brand :

which is listed as containing:

It was actually the only acceptable water around that didn´t showed scale traces on the glass kettle.

You are absolutely right. I went through a lot of venders before I settled on bottled water. We can't drink the tap water here (you shouldn't use tap water anyway) so I use 5 gallon bottles of water. I also use spring water, but it takes a day to climb the mountain to collect it, so I save that for special tea sessions.
