Uji is famous for excellent tea after Shizuoka! Maybe this is Yukkycha?
I think Uji produces very good teas. :D

I think Uji still has catching up to do in regards to organics. However Shizuoka does have "height advantage" over Uji ... well, high grown which natually suppresses pests. Kagoshima is likely ahead of Uji in the Organic department as well.

Currently drinking 2 Shizuoka organics. Sencha 7132 (grower named) and Oku Yutaka both from O-Cha.

I think you are right about that, but haven't tried much organic Uji sencha.

Uh Oh. I misunderstood this I thought it was that Uji was not making well made tea at all but it was being said that the tea from particular place and organic etc. is not to excellent. Of course I must stand up for my login name right? :-) now we return to our regular scheduled broadcast.

I'm drinking Lu An Gua Pian from Teaspring. It's my first time tasting this famous tea, and I like it very much. Have anyone tried the Cha Wang version from Teaspring? Is it worth the extra cost?

Today was a day full of Greens.

First tea of the day was a bowl of Matcha, nearly immediately followed by the new limited edition 7132 Asa sencha at Ocha.

Now I'm finishing the day with a Gyokuro from Hibiki.

I would certainly say try it! The cha wang from TS is usually better than the regular grades. Any photos?

Likewise ... an all green tea day here as well, shocking I know

YM Classic, Oku Yutaka Organic. Then the feature green offering was Tsuru Jirushi Gyokuro from the O-C ... wow, just crazy good. Served up in one of Hankook's Korean so called travel sets.

Delightful morning session of Warashina Supreme Asamushi Sencha (O-Cha).

I'm not always entirely convinced by the taste of this tea (though I've only had it 4 or 5 times).
This may be due to its overall mildness which makes the taste easily overpowered by something you've had to eat shortly before.

Right now, however, it is very nice, with the peculiar, slightly fruity and sweet aftertaste that I haven't tasted in any other tea. I can very much recommend it.

Brewed it relatively cold at 65° C/90 seconds, 70° C/30-40 seconds. On my third infusion currently at 76°C/60 seconds. 0.8 g/oz water.

Just a heads up for those that can't stand astringency: This one has a lot of it, oh boy. My mouth feels dry. This can only lead to drinking more tea. Not an unpleasant vicious circle :)

Weird freakin', lousy, mystery sencha teabag that did not even taste like sencha ... although the foil pouch was stunning.

No idea where it came from which is lucky for that company I guess.

Nice Hagi!
Swappage from Ambrose, "Shiggy" Stardust Kyusu brewing up a later steep of Sencha 7132 asamushi organic. A very different and very enjoyable sencha, with more than hints of warmed cinnamon raisin bread!
