I am also at 5-7, although I am honestly not sure where I would prefer to be, especially since most of the 5-7 are teas that are known to be able to stand the test of time with little decay in taste.

0-4 unopened. Haven't been very adventurous this year.

Had some nice Bai Mu Dan today.

Two in the fridge, one of which is soon to be opened, and three on the way ;)
I think it's a good number to make sure I don't run out of tea and I can also have some variety when I don't feel like drinking any of my open teas.

1-2 ... neither are Japanese greens ... getting desperate! 1 of these is a green from 2006, not likely to be opened anytime soon ...

I am more comfortable having maybe in the 5-10 range unopened.

Lots of samples though!

Late start to the TD, going to remedy that situation.

I keep an excel for my Unopened Puerh, and here it is... I have excluded my Unopened Greens and Oolong cause those are meant to be opened in the next few weeks or months. The ones below are meant to be kept Unopened for a while... For most of the below, I have got samples or extra piece kept aside.

My humble little collection:-

auhckw, only 12,000 pu sessions, unopened?

Of course the poll is intended to include the short term unopened as well!

So, began the TD with Yutaka Midori "classic" with the Mrs. brewed up in the Mr. Goodwill Kyusu and served in a golden Hagi. Quite a juxtaposition!

I would say about 40 bags or tins of Japanese greens in my fridge (mostly 50g packages though) and a dozen other bags in my cupboard.

All of them were bought this year and will be drunken during the next six months so I don't have any special reason to leave them unopened.

Ujibashi san no ma sencha this evening.
