just a question about teapots and crazing.
is it safe to use a tea pot that is crazed?
the real older ones i'd geuss not.
what about the newer ones?

also i was wondering about the Yixing pots.
i like all different kinds of teas, black, green
is it ok to mix the teas kinds in a Yixing
i would like to buy one .
Nothing wrong with cracked enamel, in fact, the Japanese have this whole philosophy of "Beauty in Deterioration" which means they enjoy the breakdown of items over time (more or less). Many old glazed pots have become crazed and are still used on a regular basis. The thing to look out for is lead in either the enamel or the clay underneath which has recently become exposed.
Yixing clay absorbs flavors over time, so you wouldn't want to mix teas in one. Yixing pots are often dedicated to a single type of tea. However, if the Yixing clay is glazed, then you can put whatever you want in it, as the glaze inhibits this absorption.
