by Chip » Dec 30th, '10, 00:02

Greetings TeaPeeps (people who drink tea  ) Please do drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed whether you have become more of a TeaExperimentor in 2010. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. A few days early ... but what was your tea of the month for December? Please share details of course.

I am as always looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone, bottoms up.

Oops, I did it again. I have now set the TD for 2 votes. If you voted before, you should be able to now add a second vote.

It was a Chinese oolong this month. The tea I drank the most of and enjoyed more than any other over December was tie luo han.

What else but tie luo han this morning

Easy pick this month ... Tsuru Jirushi Gyokuro from the O-C. Clearly the best gyokuro I have had in going on 12 years of drinking tea. Really amazing gyokuro!

Began the TD with a new sencha with the Mrs. before we head to Philly ChinaTown. Might meet up with a TCer.

I'm sipping Yunnan Golden Curls this morning.
That's a tough black to beat!

Tai Ping Hou Kui from from Seven Cups comes in first for me. I'm running low on tea, so I can justify ordering more to tide me over until the 2011 harvest teas are ready.

My fave for the month was Emperor's Puzzle shui xian from Red Circle Tea. I love the richness of its flavors.

Ban Tian Yao was my road tea today; Zhi Lan Xiang from Tea Habitat right now.

Currently I am drinking genmaicha satsuki. Boiled then 30 sec in the Hakuyo.

I am going to go with 2010 Spring Man Tang Xiang - Yunnan Green Tea from Norbu this month. It may not be the most outstanding tea I have had, but it was the first non Japanese green I have had in a long time, and am very pleased with it. First brew is sweet, and the roasted flavors come out just a bit more with each steep.

Just received some matcha in the mail today, Yame Matcha Kasumi and Moe from Zencha. This is only my second order of Matcha so looking forward to trying it in the new year.

It was, hands-down, a Japanese green-- some matcha that my mom got me for Christmas (she got me a bunch of really awesome tea, she's great, I love her  ). I'd had matcha once before, thirteen years ago when I was in third grade, and it is every bit as wonderful as I'd remembered.

Rose congou during the morning-into-afternoon (I woke up very late  ); plenty of iced green tea during the day because I was playing with another gift, a video game that requires dancing, on hard mode, for over three hours; waiting for a chrysnathemum tisane to cool down at the moment.

So we heaeded down to Philly's ChinaTown which was a complete bust, almost. Lunch was OK at a Malaysian restuarant that did not serve hot tea

After we visited Philly's ChinaTown, met up with Brandon at a Philly TeaRoom today. We all shared 4 teas, Gyokuro Asahina (sp), a pu-erh, house chai, and last but not least was Brandon's Shui Xian. Then headed out onto the Schuylkill Expressway TeaDrunk.

I was going to say that December was too much of a blur to think of a favorite, but I had this one 2006 wuyi that was fantastic, so I'll go with that. :D

Currently working on some post-8 hour drive gyokuro from a place in PA.

We enjoyed the meet up, Brandon! Hit a wide range of teas. Oh, even met one other member who "works" at the tearoom, though he played with us most of the time.
