Greetings everyone and welcome to another TeaDay! Please drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed whether we had a new tea this new year! You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Will you be trying a lot of new teas in 2011? More than 2010? Please share of course.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 1/4/10 2011 new teas?
My cupboards runneth over with the new teas of the last year, so this probably will not be a big year for new teas, but for enjoying the many teas already here. There will be new orders for the teas with the shortest shelf life--shinchas/senchas, green oolongs--but not too many *new* puerhs and yanchas and white teas.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 1/4/10 2011 new teas?
2010 was the year when I started to try different kinds of tea and in this year I would like to try definitely more of them. I would like to focus rather on diversity than quantity. The following year will be still about searching and finding.
In a cup, some black tea with honey and milk, good after breakfast.

3 sips Koicha
1 Bowl Koicha leftovers whipped into usucha
3 cups Sencha
30 minutes of Seiza. Ow.

I hope so. I want to try some new Chinese greens this spring and cut back some on oolongs. I will probably have some tins of yancha left over from 2010 for next year so maybe I can try some new teas.

I expect to be sampling lots and lots of semi new to wholly new teas this year. Hopefully many through OTTI, there are some great ones planned already! Most general types I have already tried, but there are always variations on the theme.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 1/4/10 2011 new teas?
Why does today feel like a Monday? I'm retired, usually every day feels like a Saturday!!!
MF Marco Polo today. Found that I was brewing the Queen Anne blend too strong yesterday; I got the shakes!
Having an adventure today; DH Ed needs help w/housework. Hired a very part-time housekeeper. SHE'S 77 YEARS OLD!! Six years older than me--but her body must be 20 years younger!! Hope I can handle this! She's due any minute.

Don't anticipate as many new teas as last year--have to finish drinking last year's new teas first!
Today, Hon Yama Zairai sencha from Norbu again, sweet, nutty, mellow.

I think i will probably try more new teas this year than last, probably because of the OTTI. Not sure how many teas exactly i tried last year since it was my first year drinking tea and i ordered alot of samples, but i am very interested in trying more puerh as well as different/unusual whites such as white darjeling.
OTTI nanuo this morning.

I will sure buy many teas this year but as I am pretty satisfied with the teas I have, I don't think I will try many new teas.

Chip - you asked 2 questions but only allowed for one answer. Yes, I will definitely be trying new teas this year - some of which are on the way right now. But more than last year - when I ordered so many different chinese teas - time will tell.
In my cup this morning, first the Lui An Gua Pian from 7 cups, and then one of the EoT puerhs from the OTTI.

Oops ... Yeah, you will have to share your answers I guess.JRS22 wrote:Chip - you asked 2 questions but only allowed for one answer. And I expect to taste possibly more than 2010 if that is possible, but it might not be quite as focused on Japanese greens.
As JRS said, "time will tell."
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 1/4/10 2011 new teas?
I have a similar case; last year was the year of trying as many different types as possible because I wanted to find out what I liked and not. This year I guess I will still try many teas, but at least a bit more targeted towards the types I have learned that I likeJRS22 wrote:Chip - you asked 2 questions but only allowed for one answer.
