OK, here is official notification of OTTI 9 90's Sheng Pu-erh. Look for the official topic to be posted on Monday around 3 pm Eastern time ... give or take.

The OTTI will then open for members to PM their "reservation" at 6 pm. PMs must be time stamped at or after 6 pm Eastern time USA!

The topic will as always contain the information about the teas and how to participate, etc. If you want to get an idea of what to expect, you can check out the previous OTTI Round topics!

"Seating" is very limited as always for this OTTI. This will be a great opportunity to sample several rather different 90's sheng pu-erh AND share the experience with other members, discuss ... and learn.

There will be some resources to help enhance your sampling experience!

Think some kind of lottery will work better. This is my off season, tho' almost on, actually. I have the time to camp out. Plenty of people don't.

Maybe some slots first-come-first-serve and some slots lottery?

'Course I'm being selfish because I really really really really really want to join in this one, and I will be able to camp out. I've been checking the forum daily for updates for over a month now making sure I don't miss the time, so I don't want to finally have my moment then be told that since my name wasn't drawn, I don't get to join in after all

Why the lag between posting the new OTTI and reserving seats?

Hm, 6 PM EST (GMT-5) would be... noon in CET (GMT+1) then! *prepares PM*

EDIT:
Ohh, midnight...
Well, I'll be awake eitherway. :-)

The lag in time is to give members the opportunity to read the topic. This versus read and feel extreme pressure to PM immediately.

Hey Chip, the board appears to be reporting an hour ahead again. We go with actual 6pm EST, right? :D

Correct.

BTW, in order to correct your time, you will have to go into the user control panel > Board Preferences > and turn off DST. That should correct your time. Surprisingly this is not an automatic default operation (set it to "no").

Ahh, silly me! I checked the preferences for the time zone, but not DST.

Hm, crazy. My alarm clock (a cheap $15 one) automatically adjusts for DST, and this board does not?
