Do you think Lipton is just relabeling a certain blend of tea so that when brewed in cold water, it tastes like regular tea, but in effect, does not contain the oils, substances, and flavors when regular black tea is steeped in boiling water? your input is appreciated. thanks.
I suspect that Lipton uses dust to make their cold brew tea, either that or something very akin to instant tea. I've had it -- it takes nearly no time to make iced tea with it. Unlike tea that you just dunk in and wait a bit for it to steep, this is pretty instantaneous.
Many places, such as Celestial Seasonings have cold brew teas that take no time at all to make. The positive side to these is that if one is in a hurry, you don't have to cool down hot tea. They're good if you want something to flavor your exercise bottle's water. But as teas go, well, that's a matter of opinion.
