Numbers of tea names

by sapper » Sep 22nd, '07, 07:32

Some specialist tea stores list names something like this:

264 Assam Mangalam FTGFOP1 (CL/SP)

I understand everything apart from the number. Anyone know what it means or indicates?

Hi Sapper,

In this case that number is their item code for that tea.

:D

You're probably looking at SpecialTeas.com. The number is just to identify the item number in the store's inventory.

Ok, thanks. I won't worry about it too much then. I saw a three digit number on a couple of sites, not just specialteas.com, so thought there might be more to it. I'll take it that there isn't.

Nah, just makes it easier to refer to a particular tea for those that aren't familiar with the names. :)
