Can anyone ID this?

Postby andie923 » Jan 10th, '11, 12:31

My BF brought this back from China for me. He said he bought me oolong but didn't find out anything else about it.. I'm a huge fan of oolong but very uneducated regarding the different types. Please help me!

Really hard to say from this picture alone. Is there any packaging? Can you post pictures of the wet leaves and brewed tea broth? What kind of aroma and taste does the brewed tea have?

If I had to guess based on that picture alone, I'd say a Phoenix Mountain (fenghuang shan) tea of some sort (maybe sold as a Dancong).

Here are those additional pictures. The only packaging it has is a souvenir tin from the university my bf studied at.

It could also be Shuixian 水仙, but the brewed leaves look too light.

Hmm I googled pictures (http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4750/445/1600/Wu%20Yi%20Shui%20Xian%20032s.jpg) and it looks very similar to my tea although it does all seem to be a little darker than what I have..

Those long twisted leaves look like dancong to me. So does the roast level. Is it fruity?
