Welcome to TeaDay, TeaPeeps! I hope you enjoy massive quantities of TEA today. But regardless of how much you consume, I hope it brings you joy. And I hope you share it with us here on TeaDay.
Please, share with everyone what is in your cup...right now, and throughout the day. So, visit often and post freely. We all want to know what everyone is drinking. Since we can't drink every tea, it is exciting to hear whatever it is you are drinking. It is also fun when we see someone drinking the same tea we are.
I know I will as usual really enjoy reading all the posts and learning a little something about everyone along the way. Today should be no exception.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic is very subjective in nature. The options are very vague. Try not to be too hard on me. Tea has a different level of importance in each of our lives. Today, let's share about how big a part of our lives TEA actually is. I am excited to hear your responses.
See you on TeaDay everyone!!!

Tea is life. The first thing I do in the morning is turn on my tea kettle and the last thing I do just before I get into bed is turn it off. Isn't tea the meaning of life? For me, it allows the world to disolve into nothingness while I drink a cup of tea. I can be having the worst, most hectic day, and for that brief instant, none of that exists while I sip my tea.

Very well said! I think that's the essence of tea...IPT wrote:... it allows the world to disolve into nothingness while I drink a cup of tea. I can be having the worst, most hectic day, and for that brief instant, none of that exists while I sip my tea.
My cups (or chawan and glass, actually) are filled with Matcha and Yun Shan Yin Zhen.

Its a pretty big part of my day. At work it lets me stop for a few minutes and collect my thoughts and at home I think it works more like a kind of meditation session. I don't think I'd no so layed back without it.

Pretty big. I drink tea while I work, so it's a very integrated part of my day. Tea makes the sometimes tedious tasks acceptable.

Pretty big. Not all consuming, but I gotta have my daily cuppas.
That said, at my b-day part(y) last night, there was nary a drop to be found. Some very nice wine was present though.

As much as I love tea, it has to be a small part. I probably don't spend too much time in preparing or drinking tea but that small part of my day is one of my favorites. When I was working or going to high school I would have said a large part of my day but with college its constant chaos of back and forth to school and assignment deadlines. Some days I drink lots of tea throughout the day, other days I don't get any

Thanks Chip!
It was a good one even though my family gave me coffee rather than tea. I think they realize how hard it would be to buy one for me that I'd really like.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 1/26/11 Big Tea Part(y)?
I used to drink tea all the time and it was a huge part of my day, but with my new job, I am running too frantic in the morning to have a cuppa, and I don't really have the opportunity to brew at work. By the time I get home, I usually have so many other things to deal with that if I get to have tea at all, it's a wonderful moment, but either short-lived or combined with less relaxing tasks.
That being said, I had a long day at work, but I'm brewing my third pot of delicious green chai, on my tea table, and getting some proper relaxation/bliss in. I only wish I could do this everyday.

Somedays it's bigger than others, but its present everyday. Fully integrated. I make tea for myself in the morning before getting my son squared away with breakfast and then heading to work. I work very close to home, so when I come home for lunch, after we eat, my wife and I have tea. We sometimes have tea after work, sometimes we don't. About once a week we will have a friend over and make more of an effort to have tea as an aesthetic experience. I would like to do this more often but a 2 year old is distracting and dangerous to tea ware. So for now, tea is very important, but is experienced in a pretty domestic/pedestrian manner.

Tea usually doesn't play a huge role in my day, but it's usually there. A relaxing, enjoyable, thoughtful part of my day.

Needed something excessively bold and fruity this morning, so there is earl grey in my cup. I predict silver needles in the afternoon, with a 20% chance of yancha...

Even though there are some days im just too busy/lazy to drink tea, it is a pretty big part of my day. It may not take up alot of time, some times its just a travel mug filled with earlgrey de la creme, other times its a nnice leisurely session with one of my yixing pots.
But it is a very important part of my day when i have time for it.
