HAGI SSO 16 Eiichi ROCK! by Shibuya Eiichi

by Chip » Jan 19th, '11, 21:08

You asked for it, and due to receiving "commitments" from more than 10 (actually more) members for the ROCK by Shibuya Eiichi, we are moving forward with the ROCK SSO (Super Special Offer  )!!!

http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=14866

You can view the photos in my photobucket here: http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll60 ... 1QQtppZZ28

Two very pop picks were #1 and 2 ...

So we can all track the progress of the ROCK, I have created this topic. Plus the above topic was getting too confusing as we were discussing two topics.

This will be limited to 20 ROCKs and once they are gone, you might not see ROCKs again for some time as they are a difficult piece to make, and require 3 or more firings.

Some photos to come ... and if you live in a glass house, do not throw ROCKS!

News Flash 2, ROCK and roll!

The ROCK is in progress based upon commitments received from members! If you PMed your commitment to this SSO The ROCK, I will be contacting you soon! If you are interested in committing but have not yet, please PM me ASAP as there are very few spaces available!!!

Again, those who commit will have the opportunity to choose first.

I am still in discussion on price, however my goal is 80-85 USD. This is well below market value for these, especially since Eiichi has stated he will not be doing these again for a while.

I will likely do 2-3 size options. These will be Yunomi which is the best "canvas" for the ROCK, I am sure you agree?

One will be about 3" and similar in size to "SnowDrifts." Then I will spec a slightly larger version, 3.25-3.5". I might spec 3 sizes ... or maybe a slightly different shape.

Target for completion is around 45 - 60 days from now.
More to come ...

OK, listen up! :!:

I will be PMing everyone who has committed to the ROCK within the next 1-2 hours. The subject will be "We will we will ROCK you!"

If you do NOT receive this PM, that means I may not have received your "commitment PM" for the ROCK or ... or maybe it was confused with the Eiichi Commission!

You should PM me immediately to "Commit" to the ROCK if you do not receive this PM!!! Numbers are already getting low!

Likewise, if you are interested in committing to the ROCK and have NOT already PMed me, do so immediately!!!

Thanks!

Soooo, only a few spots left for the ROCK! Ever since the last post, members have been PMing and committing to ROCKs.

If you did not receive the confirmation PM from me in the last few days, please PM me immediately!

If you are interested in the ROCK and have not yet committed to one, PM your interest in committing to one of these truly unique Hagi Yunomi! As the saying goes, once they are gone, they are gone.

There are only 2 Eiichi ROCKs available for member commitment! Please PM me if interested in the ROCK! Due to popular demand, the ROCK SSO will be 25 pieces.

I will endeavor to chronicle the process of the creation of our very limited ROCK run. So stay tuned!

Greetings Hagiphiles! I come to you bearing good news!

Special Note: Members who have preordered will have first view and choice of ROCKS! There are still a few ROCKs available to preorder. It is not too late to preorder by PMing me asap! Once they are gone, they are gone.

I have received good news regarding the Eiichi ROCK SSO pieces. They might be shipped to Mago late this week. I am hoping to have photos a few days later. So, I am optimistically thinking early next week I hope to have all the photos.

Also, Eiichi has slightly improved/modified these ROCKs for us! He has carved the interiors versus wheeled.

Also there will be 2 slightly varied styles. About half will be a more classic yunomi with more vertical sides. The other half will be slightly tapered.

COOL!

Great news! So looking forward to seeing the photo's. I have been trying to not think about this as I knew it would take a while :). This is actually a bit sooner than I thought it would be!

 I think Eiichi likes his Western TeaChatters!

It is usually mind blowing for me to see all the photos of all the SOs when they first come in. I thought I would explode when the SnowDrift photos arrived ... but photos of 25 different ROCKs might be more than I can handle.
