Creamy Drink

by Qoppa » Mar 10th, '11, 13:47

Hey all,
Since giving up coffee for tea, I'm finding the one thing I miss is the occasional creamy drink, like a latte. What are some creamy teas, or what are some creamy beverages (tea-based or not) which I could substitute?

Try english breakfast or irish breakfast with some milk, when I quite coffee that was a nice substitute.

You can certainly make a latte with matcha (usually food grade, no point wasting really good/$$$ stuff on this) ... matcha is often used in creamy beverages hot or cold.

Chai is a nice, occasional creamy treat for me

There are many recipes online or you can buy pre made blends and bags. Boil it up and add some good quality milk and honey. A little whisking doesn't hurt if the milk is very creamy, or if you use cream.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. During my search, I also came across Hong Kong-style milk tea, which I now want to try.

This for sure, matcha latte over ice is definitely a drink with substance. I always grab one at the local mall when ever I need to go shopping.
