Abracadaver! - OFFER: Teaware, Yixing, Hagi, etc.

by Abracadaver! » Mar 12th, '11, 19:19

It's Spring Cleaning time here, and I've got some little or never used teaware that I'd like to find a better home for. Please feel free to PM me with any questions.

Image
1: 120ml Yixing pot. This little pot comes from Chaikana Tea Culture in Santa Cruz. They told me that it originally came (unused) from a collector who had had it since the mid-80's, although I would take that with a grain of salt. If I understand correctly, the seal on the bottom is a six-character "Yixing Mang Sheng" stamp. It has a clean pour (+/-14 seconds) with a slight bit of dribble at the lid. I tested it out a couple of times to see how it performed, but otherwise it's unseasoned. SOLD!

2: Odds and Ends. From Left to right:
50ml Xu De-Jia Monk's Bowl Cup. Just starting to show crackling, still has a long life of seasoning yet to go. SOLD!
Porcelain Strainer. SOLD!
Chasen/Whisk Stand SOLD!
75 ml Goldfish Tasting Cups (Set of four). SOLD!

Image
3: Tokoname Mogake Shiboridashi by Unzen. 100ml. Barely used. SOLD!

Image
4: Rainbow Guinomi by Yamane Seigan. Unused. SOLD!

Image
5: Hagi SO #9 Sansai Tebineri Yunomi by Seigan. I hate to get rid of this one, but it hasn't become a part of my regular rotation, so it should go to a better home. It is quite large, almost a chawan-size, and was formed by hand pinch work. You can see more here:
http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=11646
Unused. SOLD!

Image
6: Hago SO #10 Hyo-Retsu Wan "Ice Split" Teacup by Seigan. I really, really hate to let this one go, but it's the same problem as above. I need to clear up space. Unused. SOLD!

Image
7: Cast Iron Tetsubin Stand for candle. By Chushin Kobo Studio, designed and cast by Hisanori Masuda. Hard to tell from the photo, but it's a dark antique brown/black. Does not include tetsubin! $25.

Prices don't include shipping. Please PM me if you have any questions about shipping (or anything else) and I'll work up an estimate. I'm also open to swapping. Just let me know.

Thanks for sticking with me through this long post! :D

This is like a high end tea shop! Lovely pieces (and not just the Hagi  though someone should swoop on those!!!).

What did you use the Unzen for?

Might be interested in the fishy set also.

Thanks! It's a little excessive, I know...

The Unzen was used for gyokuro and (once) for an amazing batch of hand-rubbed shincha.

Thanks! I will consider this tonight and give others an opp first. I never got around to getting a Shiboridashi, guess I am a houjin kinda guy.

The fishy cups are nice, we use 2 of these quite frequently. A few extra would be nice.

Well, you saved me some TeaBucks that will be needed shortly. I would have swooped in the morn.

Enjoy.

Someone grab that Tebineri, please! The thought of it's been keeping me awake at night, but I don't need anything that large. :(

I'm sad I missed the Ice Split...

I SO don't need that tebineri... but I am sooo tempted. I'd love to have another one to use at work or at Mom's, but I feel guilty when I already own 2. LOL. If the price comes down any further, I will be pushed over the brink, I'm sure.

If the cost of shipping isn't too high, I may save you from your guilt.
