Typically the last sip of tea just before bed

I usually save the cleaning for the next morning.

Making sure no teapots are left behind... on the floor. I don't have any tables really and tend to drink on the floor.

Drinking the last sip of tea before bed. Why bother with cleaning up delicate teaware when I'm relaxing? It will be there just the same in the morning, hanging out on my tea tray. TeaDay stuff is the only thing I do not clean up immediately after use. Everything else having to do with cooking, laundry, trash, work, or school gets cleaned/put away when done. TeaDay mess is the only acceptable mess here! It's pretty :)

Rose + osmanthus tonight. Tea snacks: wasabi peas, dried peaches, shortbread, pecans. $2 worth of an at-home tea lounge experience.

I guess I'd have to say it's cleaning up. Taking a mug of chamomile to bed to sip as I wind down and watch a little TV has become a nightly tradition. Anything that gives the insomnia meds a helping hand is a good thing. When I finish the chamomile I do take the mug to the kitchen and give it a brief rinse.

This TeaDay, like many others, has started off with a Lapsang Souchong.

Always cleaning up after each tea-session; I've had some bad experience with leftover red tea in white cups in the past, that has made me more careful with my teaware.
Today's teas are Yutaka Midori "Kaoru Supreme LE" and some Indonesian green tea.

When I finish my last sip, I clean up everything and clean and put my tea ware back in their places on my shelves and turn off my light and go to bed.

Finally the cleaners come out!

I clean out all the day's pots (which might be several since I drink later steeps in the evening) and then cups, etc. This I do religiously ... it would bother me in bed and even more so in the morning if I did not.

The obvious exception being for a tea that I will be revisiting the next day, but there are still always post and cups to clean before bed.

Began the TD with Fuji the Ultimate from Zencha with the Mrs.

I always do a little bit of rinsing and cleaning before bed. 8) I'm too terrified of over-staining teaware or waking up to moldy tea leaves.

I had some okuyutaka sencha this morning, some coffee (oh the horror) at work, and I am now finishing up my day with some wuyi ensemble.

Craving tea. I usually want more tea at night but am either at school studying late or getting ready for bed. Either way I can't drink tea then. I usually clean up my tea stuff directly after I make/drink the tea so that parts done early.

Jiu Hua fo cha this morning

I like my pre-bed ritual of boiling water and rinsing a few pots, towling them off and admiring their texture warm in my hands before being placed on the counter to evaporate the rinse water.

Another thing I've been doing frequently is begin a final steep on whatever oolong I've already exhausted. I'll refill the gaiwan or pot with water and place in the fridge for a cool wake-up the next morning. No matter how spent the leaves are, it seems to yield one more great cup if steeped over night.

Today drinking sencha from Kagoshima. I feel another oolong order coming on...

I was going to put cleaning up, but changed to craving tea. I have to stop caffeine consumption pretty early, and am always wishing for more later at night.

Da Hong Pau Wuyi Oolong from Norbu in my cup today.

Last of the tea day is cleanup: accumulated leaves moved to scraps bin for later trip to the worm composter; teawares rinsed and set to drain.

Start of the tea day is adding water to the kettle, setting to heat, then putting away the now-dried teawares, and picking out the new day's starting tea.

Today, starting with Hon Yama Zairai sencha, while reading the latest news from Japan.
