question for seasoned tea people here.

Made from leaves that have not been oxidized.

question for seasoned tea people here.

by Ian » Oct 17th, '07, 04:31

OK all you tea-heads...

Does anyone know who has the best organic long jing on the net, so I can buy some and then drink the hell out of it?

Also, what about a good source of Da Hong Pao oolong?

I don't know which is the best, but I can tell you that specialteas.com has a good basic organic long jing and it's very affordable. But if you want top quality you're going to pay good money for it. Rishi also has organic Dragon Well.

I second Ed in that I have no idea who has the best. But it would be worthwhile checking out these two:

www.silkroadteas.com

www.sevencups.com (may have an organic selection)

Silkroadteas.com has an affordable organic long jing.

Also, some vendors are selling last years harvest so you may want to keep a keen eye out for that.

At a friends over the summer I tried a very nice long jing from Jingteashop.com. I think he had a sampler of 4 types at the beginning of the summer and there are only two listed on site now, so no idea which one I tried.

Oh, sorry. Just reread and realised you want organic sources, Jing doesn't list the tea as organic.

Good luck.

Apologies for the triple post

Guang at Houdeasianart.com does a nice Da Hong Pao, I'm sad to say my tin is running dangerously low.

Linky

I have a small pack of the Wu Yi Cha Wang Da Hong Pao from teaspring but I've not given it a taste yet.

For organic long jing, Rishi may be one of your best options.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. So it seems I have some sampling to do...I will let you all know what i try and what my inexperienced palate has to say about it!

You should take a few good looks at Rishi-Tea. They have a variety of organic teas, fair-trade teas, and really good tasting teas. :D

The best one I know is Konnal production http://www.eurosino-group.com/html/uk.html

It's known as a diplomatic long jing

I am not sure if they offer oline shopping, but you might try. It's worth of trying :)

Reminds me of one of my fav Twilight Zone episodes, "TO SERVE MAN" which was a play on words.

So, how do seasoned tea people actually taste, are organic versions available, and any recipes???
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
