.... The perks of being a moderator, gets to choose and in theory get his shipped before the rest of us . But hopefully Mago gets back to ship out by Monday, so within a week or two many more can be sharing photos!

A few SOs ago, I began having my selection shipped right away, previously mine was often shipped last as I put others before myself. But then there began to be some problems and I decided to go first in order to hopefully head off a few problems in advance.
As it turned out, Spirits was completely mixed up due to a new employee. Fortunately I headed off everyone getting wrong pieces (and only 2 participants received wrong pieces instead of all 15, thus I did not receive my choice btw).
I wanted to share this new arrival as soon as I got to see it for the first time, certainly not intended to boast or rub it in.

Chip I am not complaining/ faulting you, in fact from viewing the Photo's I had known which one you choose as there was no photo of # 5 posted. Really it is something that no one could predict, Mago had a bit of an emergency and had to leave for a few days, otherwise it is likely many other members would have received their pieces around the same time.

Thank you for your reply and clarification Adam.
One last tidbit, #5 was not my first choice. It was actually my third or 4th. #11 was my first pick. I chose #5 because I felt that since this cracking was unique, too many would have picked it first ... which would have been problematic.
It is still hard to let #11 go since I could have easily chosen it, and the lucky participant knows how much I like it.
I do not think Mago would mind my sharing, he lost a dear friend. He has done much to ensure the continued success of this program and because he is friends to many here, I obviously put no pressure on him to deliver sooner.
Usually the SOs have historically shipped within a couple days of the selection process.

That #5 is gorgeous! I love the crackles!
I liked #11 too. My top three choices were actually a bit of a tie because I'm just happy to be getting a ROCK soon.

Perhaps mine will get baptized with some nice Yancha--rock tea for the Rock!

I hope Mago is okay.
These SOs are a lovely program all around. I have been trying to avoid a Hagi habit, but these might break me down.

I got my shipment notice too. Now I have to be patient until it arrives by SAL. I have to keep reminding that inner child--the one saying, "I want it NOW!"--that it is a minor miracle that it is going to arrive at all, and then it quiets for a bit.
I'm enjoying a ROCK tea today--Da Hong Pao from Norbu--while I wait.

Glad to hear the ROCKs have been thrown "Westward" by Mago!
Looking at this ROCK, it has two kinds of crackles. The verrry obvious ones you see in my photo. These are like nothing I have ever seen in any pottery, I will try to get closer photos, because the photo does not illustrate this very well.
Then there are the more typical Hagi crackling. These are virtually everywhere and mostly visible with the naked eye. Actually looks like it has had tea already. I expect if others have these, they will really progress!
