I'd like to buy Matcha Kotobuki, or any other Premium, superior grade, matcha tea. I found Maiko's online store, but I don't know if they are shipping from Japan to EU, and if their products are safe, I mean without radiation traces.
So, do you have any other suggestions regarding online shops, based outside Japan, who are selling high grade, premium kinds of matcha tea, ready to ship to EU? Thank you in advance!

Re: Where to buy in EU high-quality matcha?
What country are you in? Different countries have different restrictions.
Most prefectures, regions are still able to ship to most countries in the EU. So, a vendor in Uji, Shizuoka, Kyushu can ship to most countries.
But there are "restrictions" from Chiba to EU for instance where at least one vendor is located.

Today is the last day of Maiko's sale, and Kotobuki is on sale for 3000 yen down from 4050 yen, so you might just try ordering from them.

I'm from Romania, and I didn't hear yet about any Japan import restrictions... But I'm still afraid a little bit to buy from Japan, due to radiations who can affect any kind of package I think...
Anyway, I was interested more in finding a reliable online store located in any other country than Japan, who can ship to EU a high quality matcha. Do you know such stores outside Japan? Thks!

All matcha available now won't show any trace of radiation as they come from 2010 harvest.al_pacino wrote:I'd like to buy Matcha Kotobuki, or any other Premium, superior grade, matcha tea. 2011 harvest is safe for the time being and will stay safe if no new major problem occurs.
O-cha is shippping to EU, but there might be some problems for Italy and Austria
Re: Where to buy in EU high-quality matcha?
I was not talking about the radiations affecting the tea harvest (anyway, this thing is impossible, as the harvest is from last year), but the whole package by itself... I heard about people and who came back from Japan, and they were detected with a slightly level of radiations, and the same thing happened with their luggage, their personal stuff, and so on...
Re: Where to buy in EU high-quality matcha?
If they were contaminated, do you think that people working in tea shops would continue to work where they work, do what they do, even sell their teas ?al_pacino wrote:I was not talking about the radiations affecting the tea harvest (anyway, this thing is impossible, as the harvest is from last year), but the whole package by itself...
One can hear pretty much anything right now. Trusting or not japanese goods is your prerogative. But please don't believe such nonsense...

I don't think they have an online shop yet. They only show some products, and that's all...no prices and no possibility to buy online from them.a.serrao wrote:http://www.greenteajapan.com/

That's not right. Infact I've ordered some sencha and fukamushi sencha from them. The order was carried on by email, very quick. I've received the tea in 2 days!al_pacino wrote:I don't think they have an online shop yet. I think you forgot the hyphen between greentea and japan. Isn't it?a.serrao wrote:That's not right. Infact I've ordered some sencha and fukamushi sencha from them. I've also found 3 different matcha offerts, at the online tea stores from UK. Do you know if these stores are reliable? And which kind of matcha should I buy from these 3 options listed below?
