'Twas a white! The good old workhorse White Peony, to be exact. Guzzled great amounts of it last month.

And plan to do the same today.

While I definitely drank more oolong than green in March, they were all different kinds that I had as samples (and devoured). My one specific tea for the month was Korean jade (green). :mrgreen:

Today I've had okuyutaka sencha in the hagi(s), while I'm now using up some kheemun rhapsody at work. So far the okuyutaka has been the major tea for April. :mrgreen:

This was a toss up between a few dan congs and some pu, since I've been sampling both lately. As much as I tried I didn't really get on with the dan congs, the aromas were all really enticing but I could never get much taste that I liked out of them.

The pu tasting on the other hand has been much more sucessful. So far I've tried some 2004 CCNP and 2005 Meng Hai Lao Tong Zhi. Really liking the CCNP, still undecided about the Meng Hai pu, but they have both been very impressive and different to most of the other teas I've tried so far.

My Tea of the Month for March was The Mandarins 3 Stamp Shui Xian.

Ban Tian Yao at the moment. Sencha Maruyama a little later today.

March was mostly Yunnan gold and golden monkey with the occasional oolong. April on the other hand is just the opposite...so far.

Ditto.

I also found the fired TKY from the same vendor to be exceptional quality and most reasonably priced.

A 3-way tie, but all were oolongs this month:

the most brilliant single infusions were a new Dan Cong, Song Zhong #5 from TeaHabitat, floral, sweet, spicy, fruity, a bowl-you-over first sniff & sip tea;

the most satisfying, however, was probably some Da Hong Pao from Norbu, because what started as a minor musing (haven't had any yancha for a while) became a definite craving (I want some DHP) and reached a fever pitch (I NEED some DHP!) before I was in the right place at the right time with the tea, and then it took daily brewings for several days to satiate that craving;

and the most enlightening was a comparative tasting of several Alishan oolongs from Norbu, in which I finally 'got' the distinctive flavor of the jassid-bitten leaves from the summer 2009 'high mountain beauty' tea.

Today, Hon Yama Zairai sencha from Norbu.

The usual suspect - Haligari Golden Lion Assam Second Flush 2010 from Lochan Tea.

This month should be a bit different. The TGY from IPT is yummy. :D

7.4 aftershock in Japan; GD Samantha wasn't there for the big one so this should have been the biggest shake she has ever felt. Haven't heard from her yet.

Hmmm, the best in March for me was a Ba Xian Dan Cong from CantonTeaCo, wonderful fruity & citrus aroma!

I am sure your GD is fine! :D Hopefully you have heard something from her by now.

March was an odd month as I was out of Japanese greens for much of it. I will go with Organic Sencha 7132 from O-Cha. This one may be a victim of the tragedies of Japan.

Began the TD with Aoi followed by Uji Organic Matcha with the Mrs. ... both also from O-Cha.

I had two favorite teas-- matcha-sencha mix and pu-erh. Those tend to usually be my favorites. :lol:

Rose congou this afternoon; currently drinking some of the aforementioned matcha-sencha mix.

I´ll say 2010 Autumn Purple Yiwu from Yunnan Sourcing was my tea of the month for March :mrgreen: It comes out sweet and fruity with a nice astringency when I nail the infusion :)
