I did not see notches in the lid in any pictures I have got on net. If you have any links to such I will be grateful.
The lid nob is high as about my thumb width (2mm less). But thanks I will put my attention on that.

That is a mix of various stoneware clays. Because it was made for „scientific" reasons important for me was non porous of that clay.

I am also a big fan of Shiboridashi

Hi Andrzej,

It is funy, isn't is? About "notches" I have realized that even those help they are not necessery - It more depents on how the shape of the lid and body of the shiboridashi fit to each other -if there is the gap, how big, how lines in shiboridashi are done and so on.... I still work on the "perfect" one too..so keep going, I like it:)

Dave - Hallo! I wanted to say I do not use commercial, ready glazes (but I do use frits and red angobe). It does not mean I gather stones, smash them and grind. I just mix ready igredients. Sorry I was not accurate in my first post.
for ex. in my glaze below there are frit, talc, nepheline syenite, kaoline, quartz, zircopax, bentonite.

clay not but slip has minerals with MnO2 "braunstein". Only outside of course:-)

That set looks awesome, the only thing I worry about is it may need to come with two cups, and the Yazumashi also looks a little small. But then again I think I am in the minority here as a person who usually uses 80%+ or so of their kyusu's.

@AdamMY - you are right, I still have a problem with capacity. Usualy make items too big for tealovers and too small for big family needs:-) I started seriously measure capacity few month ago and "my eye" sometimes cheat me. Well... in fact there are 2 cups but it was more easily to make pic (for me).
@Chip - Houjin? not yet, now (when we talk about teawares) there are jars and portable clay stove for water in my mind.
Nice you visited mu blog. Unfortunately it is not in English but reasons should be clear;-)
