Friday TeaDay 4/22/11 Inanimate passions besides TEA?

by Chip » Apr 22nd, '11, 01:47

Greetings TeaFriends, it is a new TeaDay. We all wonder what teas will be enjoyed, so please share yours with us!

Yesterday we discussed avatars. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic has nothing to do with tea at all, sort of. Is tea your number one inanimate passion? If yes, what is second, etc. If not, what is first. A chance to learn a little about each other!

In other words, share your inanimate passions with us!

We are all looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone, and our passions! Bottoms up.

Nope. Mathematics and music are my number 1, inanimate passion. Tea is number 2. Finishing off a pot of Kiwami shincha before hitting the sheets.

Tea is definately my A+ #1 inanimate passion, but I have a lot of them and they are a close second. I am also passionate about: Qing Dynasty coins, vintage fountain pens, books, antique oil lamps, antique edged weapons, antique Chinese furniture, silent films, and much much more!

OCT for life!!!

Not yet, but definitely moving up in rankings and who knows, maybe by next year it will be on first place :)

Photography is still on 1 place... even without a camera now :(
My favorite photo, probably for most will be boring. Took it at night, when it was about ~15C below zero and... mist! Unfinished park with only few trees planted.

p.s.
sad thing about this, i lost the original photo while moving my data to laptop when we were moving to Japan :?

While tea is currently outranking them in spending, comics/art is definitely number one for me. Though tea can make it's way into such, both by my tendency to drink tea while drawing and in sometimes doodling things involving tea.

@Xell, Not boring, beautiful!

No tea right now, bedtime.

I would say tea is second/third. I can't tell if experiences would count as an inanimate passion?

My first passion would have to be CG/art. I love making animations and do it for a living (mostly). Funny thing is the teapot holds a magical status in the 3D world...

Next would be tea and then surfing. Since the move into the city though it's been impossible to catch any waves :\

Xell love that image!! Especially the composition and bleeding of the colors at the horizon like it's floating.

Gargoyle really nice! Glad to see another artist on board!

I like amateur astronomy, and I even have my own telescope. I also like reading, travelling, and driving interesting cars (but I feel little need to own them). A newer passion if mine is salsa dancing, for which my talent is questionable at best. But I have decided that enthusiasm weighs up for any lack of skill.

No tea today. Boo.

I guess tea reigns supreme at this point in time. Others down the list include bicycling/bikes, boomerangs/throwing, and an odd passion ... extreme bridges, skyscrapers, extreme/BIG engineering. Somewhat related, rollercoasters! weeee ...

I think I missed the mark on career choices as I would have loved to be involved in building bridges. It is somewhat amazing I have not crashed into or off a bridge that I was admiring as I was driving.

TD began with YM from Umami-Chaya.

I think that tea leads the way....it´s certainly what I spend the most time and money on. I´m also passionate about coffee and chocolate and I refer to them as the holy trinity...but I think tea must be the father.

I´m also interested in photography, cooking, video games and cinema :)

I think my best photography is of flowers :)

Tea for the win!
Next is cuisine, apparel/fashion, books, painting, traveling, and architecture/landscaping.

But I definitely love good tea and food the most.

P.S. Entropy- love the photo! Where can we see more?

Ahh, beautiful drawing, Gargoyle!

And lovely picture, ee!

I'm not sure on passions. They seem to fluctuate. With the tides? With the seasons? With my wallet? I'm not sure. Constants seem to be music and studying Japanese... tea is always there, too.
