Don't have much teas now and nothing that i didn't try yet.

I've just had my first shincha! Limited edition from Yame :D Really nice smell from can and nice taste. What surprised me most, it's second infusion. I always have some problems getting it right, but with this shincha it was really smooth and tasty, and like usual really rich green color.

About 4 that I haven't tasted. And 3 or 4 more on the way.

This morning had TG's 100 Year Tree, brewed in a nice little 75ml Hong ni pot. This tea is pretty unique for the rock teas I've had. Something like musk or allspice, or, I don't know...description fail.

I think fewer than 20 untried teas. I recently ordered small quantities of several teas that have been on my radar but not available from my usual suppliers, to see if they're worth continuing to seek out, and I have some new and interesting teas from the usual suspects that I haven't opened yet, because I'm trying to be more disciplined about not keeping so many teas opened at once, except for puerhs where staleness is really not an issue!

Some of the unopened teas I'm especially looking forward to are some of the few on the 'China Famous Teas' lists I haven't yet tried (Liu an gua pian, Jun Shan Yin Zhen yellow tea), and a few that I have read quite a bit about here and want to try, to see how different they are than related teas I've been already been drinking (Mu Zha TGY, Da Yu Ling, 'Milk Oolong').

Starting with Den's Shin Ryoku this morning.

I have two sample packs of tea that I got yesterday that I have not yet tried. One is a dong ding oolong and the other I can't remember at the moment. Perhaps I should try them later?

So does it worth all the waiting and longing Tortoise?

The replies are surprising me more than a bit. I expected much higher numbers of unopened teas. I am guessing this means that members have A LOT of opened teas.

I went with less than 10. That is a pretty liberal guestimate. Several gyokuro and several oolong dominate the list. I have a few sencha in the TeaFridge that are not opened, but have already tried them previously.

Began the TD with Organic 7132 from O-Cha with the Mrs. Trying to pick up the "cherry" but could not this time. Maybe next session.

None! I have seven teas open and tried them all. Most of them are nearly used up as I am anxiously awaiting the first shipment of shincha!
So, in a few weeks I'll have some more unopened teas.

Haven't had the chance to have much tea today. I bought some random (non-green) teas that I've never tried before the other day. So, today, I had a chinese black tea, "Long Yuan Golden Needle". It's pretty good. The dry leaf looks like black sencha, so I figured it couldn't be bad!

Yes! Of course it was. I never doubted it, either. Just...the longing, like you said.

Hmmm... 34 teas that I haven't tried (some are just untried vintages of teas that I have tried), plus 10 shincha are on order. Most are vac-packed. The recent purchases of Japanese greens will be the first to go, partially because I still haven't ordered a replacement for my medium-to-heavy roast yan cha pot. I have 12 teas open, mostly oolong.

DHP from Seven Cups this morning. 2010 Zencha Kiwame shincha with lunch.
