I'm pairing roasted Anxi with the soothing sounds of The Misfits.

I've been able to enjoy some sencha and gyokuro at work for the last week or two -- these teas are actually over a year old, but they have held up extremely well (the tins were relatively full and very well sealed). I am now earnestly working my way through them (with the help of a co-worker) in preparation for the shincha on its way.

Unfortunately I do not usually get to listen to music at work, for various reasons (security related... can't bring in electronic devices; internet music streaming is often restricted; etc), so likely no music while I drink tea at work today. But just some good conversation instead, which is its own sort of music, perhaps...

No music at the moment, but I have SHINCHA!
First attempt at brewing Kinari ongoing... first infusion too weak, although showing a lot of promise. For the second infusion I overcompensated and ended up with a very strong and quite unique taste, perhaps a bit grassy, but with some bitterness from the overbrewing.
Third infusion is better, but still just a bit overbrewed. Still very good!

It seems this is a quite sensitive and temperamental tea, but very promising and I'm looking forward to getting to know it better

I also ordered a bag of happiness tea (not shincha) from maiko, but the kinari already produced plenty of happy so I'll wait until tomorrow to try that.

Preparing some Rou Gui while listening to my son attempt to sing songs he learned at school. Pretty darn cute, I must say.

Never thought having a child would turn me into a sentimental boob, but it happens to the best of us I guess.

Often at the evenings I switch off everything around but some classical music which fits very well with gong fu sessions.

I've never listened to salsa music whilst sipping wuyi, but today's as good a day as any to give it a try!

As long as you do not add salsa to your Wuyi! That would be a bannable offense.

Hmm, however adding some Wuyi to salsa might be a good thing ... particularly today. :P

When home anymore I tend to have my iPod playing in my ears near constantly(only turning it off for the news and picking up the phone), so this includes my time drinking tea.

Right now I've got the soundtrack to Gumiho: Tale of the Fox's Child playing with Maruyama from Maiko in my cup.

Tea and music, yes, today anyway. And usually it has to be music that will not overwhelm the tea.

So, today listening to a dear friend's new CD, Priscilla Ahn's When You Grow Up. http://priscillaahn.com/ She will be on Jay Leno tonight! Will have some SLT ready to go!

Oh, and the tea, Xell's Yame sencha fukamushi with the Mrs., now all gone, but not forgotten.

Ta, Chip, I've set the DVR (not that I won't be up, but I'll probably forget  )

Tortoise, (or anyone else) can you suggest a good source for Rou Gui? Sounds as if it is a Tea I would enjoy. :)

Thanks.

BTW, I'm recovery from my virus (or whatever) and can now taste Tea again!! Was successful in not ending up in hospital this go around! :D
